in Robstown embracing the resilience Forge from the hard work and sacrifices of its past lies at the heart of the town's identity entering the city you witnessed the roots and historical Legacy. the town and its people were built upon the cotton ball is a prominent symbol of Pride for so many from the high school mascot to locally-owned businesses the cotton symbol acknowledges and is the fabrication of the history of so many migrant Farm Workers in the South Texas region who worked hard to make an honest living Robstown has never diminished or ignored the gravity of what this name means instead the cotton picker past is a story of our journey Prosperity through perseverance and pride so what does it mean to be a cotton picker and have picker pride in Robstown Texas for many families it was a means to an end the way to put food on the table and clothes on their children's back it was working in the field to provide for their family and to give them a better future but it also meant showing their children that there is no substitute for hard work this Earth as a powerful Testament that regardless of a City challenges for limited resources one can achieve anything with determination and a Resolute mind to our families who picked cotton in the hot sun thank you for your sacrifice and tireless effort of being a Robstown cotton picker is steeped in a rich and challenging history yet it remains a source of immense pride and unwavering perseverance within our community we have made robstownisd our choice and through in patient and dedication we will continue to forge ahead and reach new heights of Excellence
