Amanda Covarrubias

Welcome to Robstown ISD! I’m Dr. Amanda Covarrubias, and I am excited to contribute to our district's commitment to educational excellence. I earned my Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2016 and my Master’s in Early Childhood Education in 2017, both from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. I furthered my education at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where I completed my Educational Doctorate in Educational Leadership in 2023.
I hold certifications in early childhood through sixth grade and Gifted and Talented education. My specialization in Gifted and Talented education allows me to design and implement advanced learning opportunities that challenge and inspire students. I am passionate about creating educational experiences that cater to the unique abilities of each learner, fostering their growth and development.
My teaching philosophy centers on creating a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. I believe that the classroom should be a space where practical learning scenarios and open communication thrive. I serve as a facilitator of learning, nurturing relationships with students to foster a safe and respectful atmosphere. By setting high expectations and demonstrating adaptability, I strive to inspire students to achieve their full potential and become lifelong learners and positive members of society.
I am honored to have received the Edgar L. Morphet Dissertation of the Year award from the International Council of Professors of Educational Leadership in 2024. My dedication to professionalism and educational excellence drives me to continually seek innovative ways to support our students’ growth and success.
I am eager to collaborate with students, families, and colleagues to make a meaningful impact in our school community.
