Norma Cornejo

Welcome to Lotspeich Leadership Academy! I’m Norma Cornejo-Rivera, and I am delighted to be a kindergarten teacher here at our school. I hold an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Bee County College and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
With twenty-six years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of learning from and working with some of the most highly qualified educators. Their mentorship has been invaluable in shaping my career and reinforcing my passion for teaching. I believe every child has the capability to learn and succeed. By working together with parents and our educational team, we can help every student reach their full potential.
My teaching philosophy emphasizes that learning is a lifelong journey and that adaptability is essential in our ever-evolving world. I have dedicated fifteen years to leading kindergarten classes and was honored with the Teacher of the Year award in 2016 and the HERO award in 2017. In addition to my teaching role, I have served as a Student Council sponsor and coached the UIL team at Lotspeich Leadership Academy.
I am excited to continue fostering a love of learning in our kindergarten students and working collaboratively to support their growth and success.
